What is a Virtual Assistant?
The world of virtual assistants has evolved over the past few years. A virtual assistant helps business owners with their daily operations and business management tasks in a remote environment. VAs may choose to specialize in social media, website management, graphic design, etc.
There are a plethora of virtual assistants that provide an array of different services, depending on their niche. Personally, I like to call myself a growth accelerator, challenger of chaos, and cheerleader for small businesses! Today, I’m going to give more insight into the role of virtual assistants!
Why would you hire a virtual assistant?
The life of an entrepreneur is so exciting! It all starts with an incredible idea and a strong passion to start a business of your own. However, it can not be a one-person show forever. We all know that a successful business does not grow by itself or alone. As you scale and grow your business, you’ll need to ask for help. Whoa! I know. It can be scary, but by outsourcing tasks and responsibilities that take up too much of your time or you simply don’t enjoy, you’re able to focus on the things that matter!
I tell my clients that my goal is to free up their time and headspace. The extra time and headspace they gain back from outsourcing allow them to focus on planning for their next launch or project, taking on more clients, brainstorming new ideas, or spending time with their families. Outsourcing is a way to reset your passion for your business.
What can a virtual assistant do?
A virtual assistant can help with all the things you don't want to do. Whether it’s the fact that you simply don’t enjoy doing them or they take up too much time.
Maybe you have a big project coming up, but you're too swamped managing your email inbox, creating social media content, processing and delivering design files, and more.
Just maintaining the daily operations is a lot of work and it leaves little time and space left to focus on the growth of your business. Trust a virtual assistant will take care of all of that for you. Wouldn’t it be nice for your business to be running smoothly in your sleep? You wouldn’t even have to worry or think about it!
Here are some things that a virtual assistant can help you with:
Social media management
Processing and delivering design files
Creating quality content (blog posts, social media, newsletters, etc)
Take care of your email inbox so that nothing gets lost in the shuffle
Editing videos and podcasts
Website management
Sending out invoices
Analyzing reports
A Virtual Assistant is NOT a Personal Assistant
The biggest misconception that I have found is that a virtual assistant is the same as a personal assistant. It is not. Personal assistants can provide services for both their clients’ personal and professional lives, but a virtual assistant strictly provides services within the boundaries of a professional business. Consider your virtual assistant as a teammate in our business.
All my clients come to me when they are feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, and/or stressed out with their business. It’s hard to scale and grow a successful business when you’re busy all the time and you don’t feel that passion anymore. If this sounds like you, then maybe it’s time to outsource. By hiring a virtual assistant, you should gain more confidence and clarity. Feel more at ease with increased energy.
